Tim Weinzirl

My name is Tim Weinzirl. I am in my second year of undergraduate study at
Drake University in Des Moines, where I am pursuing a double major in physics
and astronomy. My resolve to pursue astronomy reflects my desires to become an
academic and contribute to scientific knowledge. Having no previous research
experience, I am extremely excited about this upcoming appointment.

 

Although I insist on keeping intensive study habits, I devote a considerable
amount of time to reading science fiction literature. I am particularly fond
of hard science fiction, but I also enjoy an ambitious space opera on
occasion. I find the science fiction genre’s subject matter tasteful and
inspiring. Certain tales about astronomy and scientists nurtured my interest
in an academic career.
