Kim Dupczak

Hi! My name is Kim Dupczak, and I’m a junior at the University of Wyoming majoring in Physics and Astronomy. I’m originally from the far South Side of Chicago. I am still active with the Girl Scouts of Chicago, and help out with the council events whenever I can. I’ll be missing the canoeing events this year because of the REU, but hopefully I’ll be able to do them next year.

I’m really excited about the program this year. I want to become an astronomer, so gaining research experience is definitely a good thing for grad school. I am doing research on gamma ray sources for Dr. Dale, but I do want to try other areas. Last year, I went to Green Bank, WV for the week-long summer radio astronomy program. It was fun using the 40 foot radio telescope to take images and then present the data to the group at the end of the week.
